Do I need to file a licensing application for each license that I want?

Yes. Licensing applications may be filed individually for each license sought, or one application may be filed for multiple licenses (as long as they will each be completed within 6 months).

Please note:

If only one application is filed for multiple licenses, the licenses will not be issued to the applicant by NIPR until the final licensing exam applied for is successfully passed.

Licensing applications are valid for 6 months once they are approved by NIPR. Fees paid to NIPR as part of the application process are non-refundable.

Do I need to be fingerprinted in order to obtain an insurance license?

Per NC regulations, fingerprinting for licensure is required only for the first license obtained, even if you have previously been fingerprinted for unrelated reasons. Licenses that have lapsed for longer than one year will require you to be re-fingerprinted for reinstatement.
